How does Appterix YubiKey Management work?
Enterprise YubiKey management consists of two components: a server application and a client application.

The server application is responsible for managing the YubiKeys, while the client application is installed on users' IT systems.

The enterprise-capable server application offers a range of functions for managing YubiKeys, including:

• Assignment and distribution of YubiKeys
• Management and configuration of YubiKeys
• Locking of YubiKeys
• Reporting functions (journal)
• Enrollment function for PIV, FIDO2, certificates, etc.
• Integration with AD Certificate Authority (AD CS)
• Registration of YubiKeys in Microsoft EntraID
• Notifications about new and lost YubiKeys

The client application is responsible for authenticating users and YubiKeys. When a user logs into a corporate system, the client application determines the status and tag of the YubiKeys and sends this information to the central management system.
