The Patent Engine is a completely novel software that enables a semi-automated and high-quality creation of patent applications. In doing so, it lays the foundation for the digitalization of the patent system for our customer DESIGN TO IP. However, intellectual property has a particularly high need for protection. This is in conflict with the US CLOUD Act. After implementing an initial MVP on a US hyperscaler, the SaaS solution was migrated to the IONOS Cloud for productive operation within a few weeks. By setting up system environments via script (Infrastructure as Code), this process could be carried out repeatably. This made it possible to drastically speed up the setup of development, test, and production environments, and above all to secure the migration of the production system. As a GDPR-compliant cloud, IONOS thereby offers the perfect environment for safeguarding the confidentiality of intellectual property.

A patent application is a complex and time-consuming process. That's why we developed the Patent Engine for our client DESIGN TO IP: software for the efficient and precise creation of patent applications. Thanks to the new AI integration via the IONOS AI Model Hub, it's now even easier and more secure. The Patent Engine enables maximum flexibility and control through an AI assistant. It can be used interactively, via context-specific and configurable prompt templates. The responses can be adopted or manually adjusted. It's even faster with the Magic Button: this allows entire building blocks to be generated – at the touch of a button, without a prompt, and with markup for traceability. Via the IONOS AI Model Hub, we can also comply with the patent attorney regulations and GDPR conformity with AI integration. The Patent Engine can also be linked to other LLMs – depending on the customer's needs.

The new VARTA.energy portal visualizes operating data and enables the commissioning, remote maintenance, and management of energy storage systems for various user groups. An IoT platform collects all relevant data, which is fed into the portal and made usable through various functions. Installers, maintenance personnel, and owners can thus manage the energy storage systems centrally. Whether it's performing basic tasks such as updates and service, or monitoring relevant data such as PV yield and energy consumption. The portal is continuously being expanded with additional functionalities for the individual user groups. Due to the continuous commissioning of new storage systems and the growing number of users, the portal must be able to handle an increasing volume of data. The cloud-native solution is designed to be highly scalable and fail-safe, through managed services such as Managed Kubernetes.

To accelerate the nationwide transformation towards climate-friendly mobility, we developed a Charging Station Management System (CSMS) for BwFuhrparkService GmbH, the mobility and fleet services provider of the German Armed Forces. It forms the central backbone of a growing charging infrastructure – intelligent, scalable, and securely operated in the IONOS Cloud. Thanks to its open interface architecture, the CSMS integrates seamlessly into the existing IT landscape. Status data from the charging systems is thus also made available in the existing dispatch and planning systems, enabling efficient and transparent fleet management. The system's scalability secures long-term investments: the current nationwide charging points are to be expanded in a manufacturer-independent manner in the coming years.

The Health Research Data Portal (FDPG) is the central point of contact for scientists who want to carry out a research project using routine data from German university medicine. The sensitive patient data requires data protection that is 100% compliant with European guidelines. We have therefore taken over the operation of the FDPG and migrated it from the Microsoft Azure Cloud to the IONOS Cloud. This ensures not only GDPR compliance for sensitive data, but also high availability through Managed Kubernetes as well as flexible long-term data storage with IONOS Object Storage. With OpenTelemetry and Grafana, we also enable fast and in-depth error analysis as well as automatic security scans with Trivy.
